Mali Brae, Moss Vale – Michelle & Mark

OUTDOOR WEDDING RECEPTION

PICNIC AFTERNOON TEA & ALFRESCO DINNER UNDER THE STARS (& FESTOONS)

Ohhh this wedding!! One of my faves so far.

The bride (an exceptionally busy surgeon) and her lovely hubby enlisted our services to, in their words, create the look that was swirling around in their heads & dreams but that they had no idea how to realise.

As these guys hail from Sydney & held their wedding at Mali Brae farm in Moss Vale they wanted their day to have a number of elements to it to make the most of their guests joining them from various parts of Australia & the world. Luckily it was a beautiful day as we had many outdoor elements (albeit with lovely back-up indoor options) starting with Michelle & Mark’s low key outdoor ceremony. After the “I do’s” their guests enjoyed a high tea afternoon picnic under giant gum trees with picnic rugs, hay bale lounges and cocktails served in mis-matched china tea cups lovingly collected by the bride & her family for many months.

And then it was dinner time!

From the very beginning our bride Michelle wanted an alfresco dinner under the stars with festoons overhead but due to many & varied reasons we had to have the dinner inside the lovely old barn. But then….2 days before the wedding….the owner of Mali Brae gave us the go ahead to have the dinner outside. Well we actioned all stations and made it happen – and I am SO glad we did. What a result.

The pictures say it all really. My favourite is the last shot of the bride taking a quiet moment with one of her girls whilst most of her guests were inside having a boogie.

Love it.

We returned the next day to pack up and give the bride all the flowers to use at her ‘recovery brunch’ and she told me that a one of her guests said “they felt like they were in a bridal magazine”. What a compliment.

We also received a very lovely bottle of champas & a beautiful thank you note…

Dear Ashley,

We are so glad we met you. You have been absolutely wonderful & delightful and we are sure that without your help we would not have been able to pull off a wedding like this. You have been amazing at all the right times, noticing all of the small details that have added up to make this day possible. You have worked in difficult circumstances with our work schedules, changes to seating plans & a complete change for the dinner and taken it all in your stride (with two little ladies to look after at home no less!).

You have been incredible and we have been so lucky to have you on our side.

Lots of love Michelle + Mark
