Beautiful Watsons Bay has become quite the wedding hotspot over the last few years.
First Dunbar House underwent a complete, & might I say absolutely beautiful, transformation with elegant decor, exceptional service, and lovely views. You can even have a spot of afternoon tea here on the front porch – definitely worth checking out.
Then the old Watto Bay Hotel was bought by some clever people who upped the ante to create the Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel and wow! What a bloody good idea that was. The old beer garden is now known as the beach club, & is gold on a hot day for drinks & some yummy food. But if it’s a wedding you’re after – the Top Deck & Sunset Room are seriously good options. With unobstructed views of the harbour & city skyline, and nautical styling with a sophisticated Hamptons aesthetic – it is perfect for weddings. Not to mention their cleverly thought-out wedding menus with ‘experience station’ options to boot. Perhaps a Prosecco & some fresh prawns to mull it over?
There’s also the Gap Bluff Centre which was quite a popular wedding venue but I believe is currently undergoing renovations, and of course Doyles on The Beach who offer private dining rooms perfect for a smaller wedding. For a more casual affair there’s also the Vaucluse Yacht Club and the Vaucluse Amateur 12 foot Sailing Club – both little gems especially for a cocktail style wedding.
SO many wedding reception options in Watsons Bay, and don’t even get me started on outdoor ceremony locations….but ok let’s talk Robertson Park. How I love thee with your magnificent fig trees and green green grass.
We’re lucky enough to look after all the ceremonies in the park booked through Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel and have a range of lovely (council friendly) options to make each ceremony unique to that couple.
The lovely Ella & Ted were married on a stunning day with lots of beautiful little touches like white quartz stones, hanging aisle arrangements and a welcome chalkboard with a gorgeous floral arrangement.
Chloe & Sam arranged a beautiful ceremony including a drinks table and their cake table so they could enjoy a cupcake and glass of bubbles with their guests immediately after their ceremony – such a fab idea! Then they ran away to have some photos whilst their guests continued to enjoy their drinks. Perfect. We also set-up a lovely little rug area at the front of the ceremony for all the kids to sit on with a mountain of cushions – an iPad helped to keep them quiet before the cupcakes were served. 🙂
For the lovely Geraldine & Scott we put up our three ladder ceremony arch with white tulle billowing in the breeze, along with our rustic timber signing table & antique balloon back chairs. Their guests were seated on matching timber folding chairs with white satin ribbons tied to the chair backs, & white quartz stones lining the aisle. Simply stunning – just like the bride.
